HOME / STYLISTS

Four hands
in the room.

Every stylist has a waiting list and a notebook. Every stylist sees the same guests for years. Continuity is the goal — pick someone, stay with them.

One person. One chair.
For as long as it suits you.

When you book with a stylist, you stay with them. We don’t rotate guests between chairs and we don’t fill in with whoever’s available. Read the four pages below, pick someone whose work you like, and book directly. Switching later is easy — we just ask that you tell us.

Founder ·Senior Stylist ·Since 2019

Margaux Hale

Margaux opened the studio in 2019 after nine years cutting hair in chains and busy downtown studios. She specializes in considered, low-maintenance cuts — the kind you can wash and walk away from — and fringe work that grows out evenly for the four months between appointments.

She trained at Vidal Sassoon London and apprenticed for three years under a master cutter in Tokyo before returning home to open her own room. She still takes one week each spring to assist on a small editorial in Paris — the only place, she says, she doesn’t do all the talking.

I would rather do one cut a day for the rest of my life than two cuts an hour for the rest of the year.

Senior Stylist ·Since 2020

Théo Marchand

Théo joined the studio in 2020 from a five-floor color salon in Paris, where he led the correction floor for four years. He specializes in hand-painted color, gradient balayage, and the kind of patient, multi-session correction work that most studios don’t take.

He keeps a notebook with every color formula he’s ever mixed for a guest, dating back to his first apprenticeship in 2013. If you’ve seen him three times, he can recreate your color from memory — but he prefers to redo the consultation each season anyway.

Color is a four-hour conversation. The first hour is just listening.

Stylist ·Texture ·Since 2021

Iris Okafor

Iris is our texture specialist — curl, coil, kink, wave — and the only dry-cutter in the studio. She trained for two years at a Tokyo studio that cuts every guest dry, and brings that approach to every appointment: no wet pre-cut, no shaping water can hide.

She takes a maximum of five appointments per day. Three are returning guests; two slots are held open weekly for new texture consultations, which she conducts free of charge. She believes — correctly — that most curly hair has been mis-cut at least once.

You cut texture by looking at how it falls, not by sectioning it into how you wish it fell.

Apprentice ·Year Two ·Since 2024

Sana Lindqvist

Sana is in her second year of the studio’s three-year apprenticeship. She trains four days a week under all three senior stylists and takes guests on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at the apprentice rate.

Her appointments are supervised by a senior stylist for the cut, but the consultation, wash, scalp ritual, and finishing style are entirely hers. New guests on a budget — or anyone curious about her work — are encouraged to book.

I am being trusted with very small things first, and that is exactly right.
